If someone wants Stellarium to run on a particular platform, it's up to
them to do something about it.  You personally provide great, timely
feedback.  Developers can use this information to the best of their
ability, to insure that it does.  But there is no expectation that any
given release is going to run on any given platform, unless there is a
developer actively insuring that.  And we just do not have many developers,
regardless of platform.
