Yes Timothy

In the early days Fabien built on Linux Ubuntu as far as I know and prepared
releases in Windows that he built when necessary, often changing the Window
procedure and dependants to suit the current code. Rob built his own version
for his planetariums in Apple I believe but he also had his own additions that
were not generally adopted. I also built in Linux Ubuntu 6.04 but did not have
a video card for OpenGl

These days I build daily on Windows with Qt 4.8.0 in XP. and have done so since
release 0.7.1 (when it still ran on Win98 2e)
I also build in Win7 64 Bit, Vista, and six other windows XP installations with
various video systems whenever I have the time.
I don't test every function but I try to check the source changes and test
anything that is obviously different or mentioned as being changed.

I also build in Linux Ubuntu on two installations if there is a problem in
windows, and bug fixes that apply to any platforms I have fitted.

I also have three telescope test beds where I can test the LX200, ETX and
Nexstar/Synscan. I can also test the ASCOM/EQMOD/Stellariumscope third party
software

There is a total of 11 possible builds allowing 30 mins for each system this
could take at least six hours so I only build on platforms other than my main
XP if deemed necessary.

If there is any problem I report immediately with as much information that I
can get from error messages.

In that case it needs to be fixed before any further damage results to the
main branch.
Primary compiling should be done on linux
Then Windows
and finally Apple
Too many developers are using Apple as their primary platform and not testing
on on windows

If someone wants Stellarium to run on a particular platform, it's up to them to
do something about it. You personally provide great, timely feedback.
Developers can use this information to the best of their ability, to insure
that it does. But there is no expectation that any given release is going to
run on any given platform, unless there is a developer actively insuring that.
And we just do not have many developers, regardless of platform.
