The bug is against type 7 (newer white"ish" keyboards with USB ports

There is a hardware bug against the type 7
keyboards. Obviously this won't be fixed in a
software patch.
There is also a software "bug fix" which will
recover from keyboard errors gracefully.
This fix should be applicable to any type of
keyboard, if I'm not mistaken. I'll double-check
with the developer just in case. To date we've
not heard of any such errors from anything but the
Type 7 Sun keyboards, but I suppose any keyboard
can fail. The patch will be made available on
sunsolve, and I'm sure that somebody on this list
will notify the list when it is released, as
they have in the past.
I would however be extremely suspicious about your
odd problem constraints:
- keyboards can be swapped without changing the problem
- Sun Rays can be swapped without changing the problem
- only one user sees the problem
Does this user perhaps tip their coffee cup into the keyboard
every morning? Store chewing gum in between the keys? :-)
More seriously:
Is this user an extremely fast typist?
Do the keyboard problems persist for other users after this
problem user has used the keyboard?

The patch will be available on sunsolve.sun.com when it is released.

Hi Bob,
These are the Sun Type 6 keyboards. Where do I need to check to
download the patches from?
