No, I don't mean users, I mean that you can't even try the solution without 
having to install *NIX somewhere. But if there was a virtual appliance one 
could download and run and have a Unified Storage -style single broker running 
with the ability to add more brokers to have it clustered and so on.

It probably wouldn't remove the need for outside help when actually 
implementing but would lower the barrier to consider the solution.

But with all the support/licenses SR3 costs almost twice that (I calculate VDI 
licensing as well). SRS license alone is $100 more. And actually those brand 
names don't cost that much more anymore, (un)fortunately. But true, companies 
don't usually buy the cheapest ones available.

Yes, but it may also be the boss who decides, it may sound risky to move 
somewhere "new" instead of staying with the old.. I know it makes the boss a 
big ass but unfortunately that happens also.. :-)
