You are one of those people who can hear frequencies higher than a 
normal person. What I hate is when someone has left a TV turned on but 
there is not picture so you can just 'feel' the stupid thing on. Drives 
me insane! I don't doubt that you hear the whine, it should not be 
there though, otherwise, both me and my dog should be driven insane.
