I assume FPM, 70 ns. This could only be verified for each computer by
examining how the chips are labeled and looking it up.

Theoretically, a faster setting should let the CPU get at what's in the
cache quicker. Whether that has any practical value depends on what's in the
cache ;-)

Very likely. This is the sort of thing that's very machine-specific; if
turning it on causes a lot of crashing or data corruption, then turn it off.

Norton Utilities for Macintosh (NUM) has a utility called "System Info" that
can be run for comparitive bench marking.
