Asked Warren:

>Warren, which version of Gauge Pro were you using? I don't remember
>which I used but it very consistently crashed if more than 1 GB of
>RAM was loaded for testing. Take out a 128 and add a 64 and it ran.
>So in the hopes of avoiding another mystery phenomenom, I'm hoping
>you were simply using a different version which doesn't share the (I
>hope) consistent problem of the version I tested.

I apologize for intruding, but thought I would add the results of a
test I just ran.
I have an S900, PPC604e 233, with 1040 Meg. OS9.1.
Machine ID 67, ROM $77D.28F2

Gauge Pro v1.1 freezes the machine when double clicking Gauge Pro.
That was, as I remember the last upgrade to the Gauge Pro series.
Gauge Pro included all of the Gauge series tests in one Application
and apparantly is broken for my machine, and seemingly, except for a
fortunate few, the rest as well.

Note: After I finished this email, and before I sent it, I had a
thought: " Maybe it is an Extension Conflict". So I restarted with
All Extensions Off and now Gauge Pro v1.1 runs fine. Did 5 passes no
problem.
However, with 1,064,960K RAM installed only the free ram was tested.
That was, on my machine, 1,038,831K.

Ramometer v 1.3 ran 5 passes OK. Note: With extensions ON.

The RAM is all EDO.
Four sticks from OWC and four sticks from Velocity.

In the past I have run TTP3.08 and it runs OK ( but I only ran the
full suite of tests , that included Minor and Major Marches, once
while testing "Full RAM" not just "Free Ram"
