I have 2 S900s and getting 1 GB ram loaded gave similar problems in both. All the ram was tested OK in Ramometer. What I did was load all ram slots, disconnect the HD and then start from a floppy that came with my Sonnet G4 board. This is pram restore disk that has a minimum system 7.5.5 on it. Or you can start from a OS 9.1 boot CD. If that works without freezing and you can see all your ram, then shut down and connect your HD (with CUDA push). Then try to start up. If you see all the ram, you're done. If it boots OK but you don't see all the ram, open the Apple System Profiler and under memory, see which ram stick isn't showing up. If there's a ram stick in B4 but not showing in the APS, pull that stick and consider testing it separately or moving it around and see if that works. I've had sticks not show in APS but test OK.
