You need a step-up device with a turntable, which is why the phono input on
a stereo receiver/amp is unique from the other inputs... It boosts the
signal from a turntables phono cartridge. Therefore it's best to run a tape
output from your receiver/amp to your S900, just as if it was a digital
cassette recorder.
