Hello I'm looking to get a firewire/usb PCI card for my Umax S900 to be used with a firewire bus powered CF card reader.
Can anyone recommend a compatible & reliable PCI card which can supply power to the firewire ports? What about the LaCie USB 2.0 & FireWire PCI Card? Does anyone have experience with it? http://www.lacie.com/caen/products/product.htm?id=10122 By the way, is it safe & reliable to use firewire bus powered devices on the Umax S900 so equipped? Would it be better to find a firewire CF card reader which had an separate AC power adapter option?
