The answer here is to sign up as a PalmOS developer. It's free.
Unfortunately, the interfaces aren't provided outside the SDK. SDK is
freely downloadable for Win32 or Linux. You'll need one or the other to
read the specs, until you transplant them.
You might want to hit the Handspring site and do the same thing, as you
also have an interest in hardware.
