some times you have to do a clean install not a upgrade. also some of the set
files were out of date. includeing firefox and i e.
w e 9.2 is the latest version and it did have some bug fixes over w e 9.1.
the only problems i have had so far is with firefox.
w e and firefox will hang when i open the bookmark list in this case control
alt w will not close w e until the two unhang.
if i turn off autoload before i open the bookmark list it works fine . without
hanging.
***
i use a batch file to shut down w e with a command line. this is independent of
the w e hot keys to reload. the /k command will kill w e.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GW Micro\Window-Eyes\wineyes.exe" /k
this will shut down w e completely most of the time.
then you can reload with the regular hot keys.

Subject: stability versus new browse mode
Hello, I had been using a windows 7 laptop running wineyes 7.5, and it was
fairly stable. When I finally upgraded to wineyes 9.1, the new browse mode
could not perform the same tasks as the earlier version of wineyes. It kept
freezing up while I was on the web doing the same tasks as I had done while
running wineyes 7.5. Pressing control, alt, W did nothing. I had to do a cold
boot everytime. After using 9.1 for a couple of weeks, I had to uninstall it
and go back to an earlier version. This time I installed 8.4, and it works as
well as when I was running wineyes 7.5. So, to get the benefits of the new
browse mode, I would have to sacrifice stability. For me, wineyes 9 was a waste
of money. I can't even use it. I mean what good is a silent screen reader. I
have been using wineyes since the 1990's, and I have never been this
disappointed. The new browse mode is so dysfunctional that it should be in
beta.
