I tried it that way for some time too. What I am doing now is a custom data export - not a canned "report".
I cannot tell you where in Skyward to go to do it - but it is under Utilies -> Import/Export -> Custom Data Export in SchoolMaster. I wasted too much time trying to doctor reports before I set up the data export - spits out a nice tidy *.csv for me. --Michael T.
