Most commercial ships and airplanes are not allowed to have only
GPS navigation equipment, they are also required to have other
equipment that will allow them to safely sail/fly to a port/airport.

Telcos and other places that have tight timing requirements typically
have their own clock distribution infrastructure that is based around
high-holdover capability clocks, but in recent years they have been
increasingly tying much of their equipment to GPS too.
