Besides, if we are being pedantic about the word “live,” we should also point out the shows are not on “tape” as tape hasn’t been industry standard in years. As for the non-live/edited aspect of the talk shows, it is the frankly sloppy editing that has brought the issue to the forefront. I worked a lot of talk shows back in the day, and I’ve attended several since then, and the only show that strived to air an as-recorded broadcast was Leno’s Tonight Show. But editors and producers used to strive for continuity, and that just isn’t the case anymore. I think it would matter less if the editing resulted in a greater amount of comedy/substance, but I don’t think that has been the case. > > Adam > > On Sun, Jan 21, 2018 at 5:47 PM, Brad Beam <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Tune in tomorrow night after your late local news for a new "Jimmy Kimmel >> Live on Tape." >> >> Sent from my iPhone >> >> On Jan 20, 2018, at 10:44, Jon Delfin <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> The deception begins with the daily "Live on tape" announcement.
