簡単に実装してみました。

にcommitしてあります。
この move-without-face branch の本来の趣旨はstatus間を移動する
ときにface propertyを参照しないようにしたものです。
%FACE用の更新もこちらのbranchにcommitしました。
%FACE[face名]{...}を使うとstatus中のtwittering-username-faceの
部分を上書きできるので、face propertyを使わないようにしないと
status間移動ができなくなってしまう恐れがあるためです。
こちらで試したところでは
GNU Emacs 22.2.1 (Debian lenny)
GNU Emacs 21.4.1 (Debian lenny)
GNU Emacs 22.1.1 (cygwin 1.5)
の環境でstatus間移動も%FACEも問題なく動いているようです。
