I had some free time, so I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 25.10, without adding any extra packages. I fully updated the system and then tested it.
I was able to successfully capture the monitors when they were connected at Feb 09 20:02:35, and they were successfully disconnected. However, there are no logs showing when I reconnected the monitors at Feb 09 20:03. The screen went black, and the system locked up. ** Attachment added: "journalctl-b-1.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.17/+bug/2141225/+attachment/5944507/+files/journalctl-b-1.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2141225 Title: Kernel panic when connecting USB-C Dell monitors on Ubuntu kernel 6.17.0-14-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.17/+bug/2141225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
