The service starts and stops repeatedly. I therefore tried some of the solutions from these forums.
It seems that 7.6.1 is not compatible with the flavour of Linux Debian I am using. It's something to do with versions of Perl and probably other incompatibilities. When I tried 'making' it I gave up when it said I had to install zlib. What is that, where do I get it from (Synaptic lists several files with zlib in the name but I have no idea which I need, and nor do I really want to have to care)? Do I want this agro? I'm running Linux Mint Release 1 Debian 3.0.0-1-486. (from ISO 201109 xfce 32 bit). My understanding is that Vortebox is a bit of kit running Linux. I now would not dare to spend money on a special Linux box to run SB. Logitech may decide to give up on that version of Linux tomorrow. I'm hoping that they will continue with the Windows version because the number of users on that platform will encourage them to so so. -- PasTim Server on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, 2 CPU, 2GHz, 4GB, FLAC files.
