No, there is a vortexbox appliance that one can buy with vortexbox system already installed. But the vortexbox ISO I linked to can be installed on any old x86 computer you have sitting around (and it is free unless you choose to donate to the developers). A old $25 garage sale windows box from the last 7 years would work fine. So if you have an old computer (sounds like you do), just install vortexbox system and in a few minutes (not counting copying music files over) you should have a working linux box with SbS already installed. And updates from there are all from a WebGUI to that computer running vortexbox. Very simple and no linux required. Also, no need for monitor, keyboard, or mouse on this old machine once you've installed.... -- garym System 1: Vortexbox Appliance (1.10) > SbS 7.6.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) System 2: Win7(64) laptop > SbS 7.6.2 > Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio and laptop) Retired: SB3, Duet Receiver Controlled at both locations with: iPhone (iPeng), iPad (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.6 on Win7(64) laptop Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Additional Tagging - mp3tag ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90827 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
