No, there is a vortexbox appliance that one can buy with vortexbox
system already installed. But the vortexbox ISO I linked to can be
installed on any old x86 computer you have sitting around (and it is
free unless you choose to donate to the developers). A old $25 garage
sale windows box from the last 7 years would work fine.  So if you have
an old computer (sounds like you do), just install vortexbox system and
in a few minutes (not counting copying music files over) you should
have a working linux box with SbS already installed. And updates from
there are all from a WebGUI to that computer running vortexbox. Very
simple and no linux required. Also, no need for monitor, keyboard, or
mouse on this old machine once you've installed....
