Hi Arjo : Been having some fun with your new shader , however I have a question or 2 .
Don't get me wrong though , I think this is just an incredible shader , and considering your test scene is not a Gi scene at all and yet ends up looking very much like one after Post-Processing is complete makes it an absolute gem , in my opinion . First thing I noticed was that you've placed one of the 3 lights below the ground-plane . Some renders show a difference when it's disabled ... some don't . I like the contrasting gradient it provides , but is there something more to it ? Please comment . Also , I noticed that your readme.html renders do not seem to always match the actual project renders . Mainly , I noticed that your "AO_Effects" Post-Pro- cessing Effect seems to have no effect . Is this a small oversite , or am I just missing something . Anyway , I'm nit-picking of course . The main thing is that your Post-Processing "Diffuse_AO_Effects" works really great and is just fabulous if you ask me. For anyone trying this shader out make sure you turn the AA down to zero so that you can do some quick tests without getting frustrated about render times ... Well , we could just go out and grab an Apple work- station http://www.3dfluff.com/mash/cinebench/top.php if we get a bit impatient <grin> . Thanks again for this Arjo . Just an excellent way to easily incorporate the very cool effects that AO has always shown us ,but now into our simply lit renders. Cheers . studio
