Hi Mark..
I dont think its already possible.. if so I think with all my
fiddling I would have found it..=)
I think the mapping is only one way...for now..[....snip]
Hope some of it makes sense..! =)
Yes it makes sense, after multiple readings ;)
btw..
Is there a way to make that "Spring" material for the Nurbcurves, to
keep its thickness, while also keep the revolutions of the "Spring" ?
As it is now, when the 2 point curve is prolonged, the thickness
increases... (shows when its more prolonged than in your anim..)
Otherwise a nice and fast material to achieve a cool enough look for
not so prolonged springs..
Thx for sharing this material..!
Glad to see you tried it, yes I'm aware of this shortcoming, it's
very visible if the springs are really streched.
To solve this, VSL should be aware of the amount of strech of each
individual nurbs curve that it's mapped to, and then apply this to
the Fade curve in the VSL. The part of the curve where Fade=0 (the
visible part) should be smaller if the nurbs curve is streched more,
now it's fixed. And something similar for the Bump Normal curve.
Anyone any ideas about this? I'm stuck...
thanks, hope this makes sense,
