Is your OOo 3.0.1 (OOO300m15(Build:9379)) from OOo or the Ubuntu PPA?
The Ubuntu PPA version doesn't even have the update option as all
updates come from the Ubuntu update manager (incremental in many
instances). If it is from OOo, then I guess the answer would be yes, as
all of my versions do have it (update option).
