It's nothing to do with your install (I have multiple machines with the
same). The problem is the update server
(update30.services.openoffice.org). So, feel free to add to the bug in
order to 'ping' the issue.

Given that the 'update' is actually a full install anyway, I always turn
off the update feature anyway. To me it's pretty useless as I wouldn't
want OOo going out and fetching a file of that size and using my
bandwidth. I much prefer to use gwget instead where I can cap the
download to a reasonable rate. Nor would I want it grabbing the wrong
one (a JRE version for example on a Windows OOo update).
  For me, the 'update' would be useful if incremental update/patches
were supplied (similar to the Ubuntu update manager etc). Until then I
just turn it off.
