Yes, it seems that's "how it is".
 It didn't create desktop, quicklaunch or Programs entries for my Win XP 
Pro.  Actually, I have posted a question about it over on .general so 
perhaps you might want to watch there to see if there is anything to be 
done about it.  Seems like a simple thing to do so I was wondering if it 
was something I did or an install shortcoming.  I only posted it today 
so haven't seen any responses yet.  IMO it's an install shortcoming, but 
... those might be famous last words<g>.
