Nope, never on Windows (sometimes on linux when I forget to do desktop integration :-). Could it be that she just missed it in the list? Is it there now? Sometimes a user will be looking on the programs above the "Programs" list instead of actually in the Programs menu. Alternately, they look for the program in alpha order & miss it because a new install gets placed at the bottom of the list. Have her go back into Start|Programs and then right-click on any of the programs there. Then have her select "Sort by Name" and see if OpenOffice.org 2.3 magically appears in her list of programs.
