Twane, I just finished installing a new version of OOo (2.3.1 Windows) on said drive w/new WindowsXP install (SP2 patched/updated after the install). - Did a "Complete" install of OOo on the system - When finished I clicked on "Start|All Programs" and found: OpenOffice.org 2.3 - Of course desktop icons are not created, so within "Start|All Programs|OpenOffice.org 2.3" I right-click each module that I want on the desktop, and select "Send To|Desktop (create shortcut)" and create a desktop icon (example: OpenOffice.org Writer). - I then double-click on one of the icons (Writer in this instance) and then complete the install/registration process. FYI: I typically unselect "check for updates automatically" and select "I have already registered". Done. OOo is working just fine on the new drive as designed. I'll now tweak a few things to get it to my liking and it's good to go. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
