Now don't quote me on this, it's been over 3 years since the one & only
time I did the clutch pack & double-D on a V-Max. But, if my clouded memory
is in the ballpark, Yamaha used a "1/2" friction disk for the last disk in
the pack. The width of the friction material I think was only ~1/2 as wide
as all of the others. And, there was some kind of retaining wire and "wave"
washer to remove for this mod. The wave washer was to help take the shock
out of the clutch pack when "dumping" the clutch. But, like I said, it's
been 3years since I did this. I think at one time, there might have been a
Vboost article written about it.
Anybody want to chime in and help me clear up my foggy memory?
