The kit is fine, John. That along with a yardstick and a copy of 
Leadercalc and your on your way. It's cool to be able to build leaders 
specific to the line weight you're fishing and the situation. Just can't 
get that with the standard off the shelf tapered leader. If you need

Does anyone on the list tie their own leaders?  I am not talking about furled or braided leaders, just tying different size line together?  I was thinking about getting the umpqua leader building kit, or just buying spools of the sizes I need.  If you just buy the sizes like say I want to buy .021 for a butt section, do I still just buy leader/tippet material or am i gettign into a different leader material?
