well it looks like im the only hillbilly redneck on the list.

i got my canoe for 25 bucks it is a fiberglass 16 footer, weighs bout 65 pounds. i had to patch it cost bout 20 bucks for the patch and camo paint job. i take it every where, swamps, beaver ponds, rivers and lakes. i use a anchor in lakes and wish i had 2. i use a pole in the swamps and beaver ponds. and i use a chain to slow me down and stay straight while in the river . i have stood up and casted from it but id rather sit.i put a third seat in it couple years back made from ply wood. it's ugly as heck, but i shot lots of ducks killed a few deer and caught plenty of beaver and fish with it, best 50 bucks i ever spent.

Just a quick question, how many of you fish from a canoe? I have been
considering purchasing a canoe for some local lake fishing. Is there any
better canoes for the fishing or will any old one work just fine?

I had considered a pontoon boat, however I like to take a friend or two
when I go, and the two man pontoons are out of my price range. I like the
idea of a canoe for its portability, I can throw it on top of my explorer
with little preparation.

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy
