I must admit that I've had great service from my 4 and 5 piece Redington
rods..did several 30 + pound salmon in Alaska two years ago on a 5 piece
Redington..no problems and have fished a 5/6 weight all over the river and
reservoir and it is my favorite, bar none, rod. No problems at all. I use
it lots and know that if I break it, they will fix it. Have loaned it to my
friend who broke it shutting it in his screen door and they replaced the
entire rod for me. But, this is only one person's experience. My other rods
are St. Croix and Scott and I have not used either of them in
years..literally. I think perhaps it is all in what you like and get used
to. The neat thing is that I simply packed the 5 piece in my big duffel bag,
locked it up and put it on the plane and it was not disturbed. Joyce
