Thanks for the detailed explanation,
I think I have sounded as if I had not changed the fuel filter for years
(!!).....while that is not true, I must admit I am not very regular too. How
often should a change be?? How many miles/km?
I did tackle the problem today. Here is what I found..........
I took the in line disposable kind Bosch fuel filter off the hard line
exiting the body.....and could not believe what I found......a 2cm long plug of
what looked like a dust bunny!! Drat!! Pulled it out and felt it
good......fibres mixed with a bit of rusty crap. The fuel flow was not too
great too so I aspirated the line a bit and then pushed air back towards the
tank till I heard bubbles.
I know the right thing would have been to clean the tank and the line as
suggested but running short on time it was not possible. Being my daily ride, I
had to prepare for going off to work this afternoon. I know I must have simply
pushed more crap back into the tank for it to act up later. I do have a fuel
tank swap on the cards so I might do that sooner.
Anyway. Proceeded to replace the old filter. It really was not too dirty
and would have lasted more especially if I cleaned it as described. But I
decided to put in a new one as it may have to deal with more crap coming its
way.
Now what remains is to test the bug......the drive to work should reveal
any problems.....I doubt there would be any....fingers crossed!
Asad.
