Cases also offer a better gripping surface. Perhaps it's just something to get 
used to, but I find myself constantly worrying about dropping an iPhone if it 
isn't in any case at all. The 4 and 4s aren't as bad since they are thicker, 
but the 5 and later always feel ready to slide out of my hand. A case gives me 
something more to grip. Again, it might just be a psychological thing, but 
there it is.
