Hi Kyle, Yes, I tried Ronni¹s suggestion of using Elgato's uninstaller program Eye TV Reporter to uninstall EyeTV 2.5.3, reboot the iMac and then re-install EyeTV 2.5.3 but it made no difference.
As I said, it seems to me the problem is at a higher level ie the new 27² i7 iMac does not recognise the old EyeTV hybrid as an attached USB device AT ALL. As yet, I have not gotten around to buying a powered USB2 hub and trying the unit on that. There has been no response from anybody who could confirm that a circa 2006 EyeTV Hybrid WILL work when plugged directly into a Nov 2009 27² i7 iMac running Snow Leopard.
