*Always* try to start up with the Disk Tools disk if the Mac won't boot.
The best case scenario, of course, is if you have a copy of Norton
Utilities or any other diagnostic tool (such as Disk Doctor) on the
startup disk so that once (hopefully) you get it booted, you can run
this utility to diagnose and fix the problem!
