Pills generally only alleviate symptoms... modern medicine generally
only cares about symptoms, not causes...
> Have you tried a chiropractor yet?
I and my parents have used chiropractors on occasion with good results
-- when I was sure they were real...

They like to do that...
One thing I learned, a bit hard to do in modern apartments where doors
and door frames are held on with two nails... is to hang by the hands from
the door or door frame, bending the knees so as to let the load of the
body stretch the back. Also works to some extent if you find a space
between two tables or counters, and use your hands to hold you up so your
legs are loose, and the back is stretched by your body weight. (Diagram)

It does work in many cases, and sometimes for things that one would
normally not think were spine related. Certain stomach problems, even
occasional shortness of breath can be caused by compression problems in
the spine.

Mainstream medicine is just as full of idiots, gougers, and fools as
other professions like auto mechanics, landlords, real estate agents, and
even, um, webmasters. ( http://www.mall-net.com/webcons/swamp.html ) As to
the competency of mainstream medicine in general... it is called
aleopathic medicine, because it is designed to alleviate pathological
SYMPTOMS. Most doctors don't give a river mounted hydraulic fixture about
causes! Cure the patient, and lose the revenue stream. Alleviate the
suffering, and you have someone who is hooked on your treatments for the
rest of his or her life! ( http://www.mall-net.com/arth/ )
The nice thing about the internet, is that a lot of those victims,
er.. patients, are getting together on mailing lists, discussing their
problems, and finding that on the odder problems, they know a LOT more
than most of the doctors they have been going to. This sometimes prompts
less competent doctors to decry the net is full of fools, and the more
competent doctors to actually read the web sites their patients print out
for them. Like the sites I run for a doctor. Most common complaint I get
is that the URL's are not shown in the text when they print the pages.
Well... we do want them to come back, as we do add pages.
