That is part of the charm of being on this wonderful list! I have
absolutely no interest in motorcycles, nor building sand castles, nor many,
many other things that I hear about on this list. But I read them, and
enjoy the chatter that lets me know there is more to this world than my
desk and my apartment, where I may spend days working without seeing
another human being.
This IS a community! A Very Good community! And what I love most about
it, is that it is a community of intelligent professionals, people who
have brains, intelligence, humor, and humanity. I can find two or three of
those on other lists, but not as good a balance as here. I do more
programming than HTML. HTML is a side line for me, a quick and easy way of
building an interface to something that might be used by others in a
larger community. But this is where I prefer to hang out, not for the
tips, which ARE valuable; but for the sense of a larger community of
intelligent human beings who have walked through a broad slice of this
thing we call life.
