Not to belabor this one, but I do agree this is the most desirable
outcome--and something we deserve. Unfortunately, we've only had one
president in the last 30+ years who truly met that description, and we
voted him out to make room for Reagan . . .
Reality, and what we want the world to be, are two very different
things. I think we need to hold to the ideals, but at the same time
live in reality and ask what is the TRUE driving force of the issue, and
what are the true outcomes we should work for. The latter rarely
parallels public opinion--our goal is outcomes, not reviewing the past,
and I see no better outcomes from this process than ending it right here
unless someone can prove an actual breach of security or true
constitutional issue ;)
