I just registered a domain name yesterday and it took less than 10 hours.
If it's in the whois database, then InterNIC's job should be done.
If you can't reach the URL it's probably because the server it's registered
to has not assigned an IP address to it. For whatever reason.
>I haven't registered a new domain with interNIC in several months, but I
>know someone who did register a domain over 4 weeks ago, and I still can't
>get to it - www.oceanodyssey.com - it shows correct in whois.
>
>I didn't do the registration nor do I handle the server it's pointed to, so
>I don't know if there is some other problem unrelated to interNIC. I was
>just wondering if anyone else has noticed interNIC to be slow these days.
>Last domain I registered was 4 months ago and it took less than a week for
>it to propagate to the nameservers and be accessible.
