Even if you're right I think that they won't sue him since he is trying
to sell their CD and not to avoid to pay royalities...
I think they will be upset if he will put on the net a full track...
Here, in italy, the law is a little bit different.
I don't know exactly how it works, but since there is an
organization that help music authors to be paied for their work, and
author are paied by this association that collect revenues of evry
reproduction of their work... they have to pay this association even
if they are playing their songs for free!
Suppose a radio is advertising an album, with the agreement of the
producer and the author... each time the radio play a song it has to
pay the association... of course the producer/author will pay the
radio to pay the association that will pay the author.
