Bruce, you're quite right and I did not mean to simplify things. But I
think as a general rule, people with smaller monitors, 15" and below, are
very likely to be running at minimal 640x480 type resolutions.

And again I agree completely. If at some time in the future everyone is
running 17-19" monitors at 1024x768, that does not mean that all web pages
should be 1000 pixels wide.
