Thanks to Brent and everyone else who offered advice in the ".wav or Real
Audio" thread.

At the www.mp3.com site I used a piece of freeware called ZMac's SoundSmith
1.1.3 to create .aif (Mac sound file format) files from audio CD tracks,
then used Real Audio's free 5.0 package to encode those .aif files into .rm
files. I was able to successfully stream the file online (from a host that
is not running a Real Audio server), the link is at
http://209.132.73.140/audiotest.html

The Real Audio file is only 30 seconds long, and the sound quality is not
terribly impressive, but hey, it's only a 78Kb file :>)

Brent, that is not what I call a "simpler way" :>) But to each his own <G>.
