I think this 'secret' has been posted here before, but if not, I will offer it.

If your client has any claim to being located in physical space, ie a
storefront, factory, even a home based business, submit your URL to a
regional heading in Yahoo and use what you would normally consider its
primary category as your second choice.

I have used this technique several times and it hasn't failed to get
results within a week or two. They will usually add a third catagory on
their own if appropriate.

It seems that editors assigned to regional submissions have less to do so
get to your submissions quicker.

The last one I did this for (after being frustrated by not getting listed
after a month) was http://www.cowboyblend.com

I believe Yahoo has forsaken what made it great as a directory by focusing
on portal projects and partnerships with ecommerce businesses. While its
search results are more relevant than most search engines, it's obvious by
everyone's frustration with geting listed, that they are not being
exclusive in their selections so much as being slack in adding resources in
parallel with the growth of the web.

As a result, many of the very best resources (unless submitted by major
corps, advertisers and other favored submitters) are being lost.
