Anna, thanks for your comments. And thanks to Suz and Bruce who also kindly
expressed an opinion. Overall, the advice was pretty consistent.

Whenever I build a web site for a company, I _always_ require 50% of the
cost in advance, and I bill the balance upon completion of the site
(approved by the client) and placement of the pages on the server. In 3
years, I've never had a problem with this, and I always get paid.

For this contract work I hope to do, I will also require 50% of the
estimated cost up front and then bill weekly for the balance.

Show me the money! <G>
