Please consider the text on this wiki page to be an extremely
malleable starting point for discussion.  In particular, I don't
consider the proposal - as it stands right now - to be ready
for a vote or adoption.

I would like to explicitly invite AlanB to play an active role
in editing the content of the wiki page.  My reference on the
page to "Alan's original proposal" should be considered a
placeholder - I would be just as happy if an updated CG
proposal were forthcoming...

I would like to capture the concept of an "editorial policy
document" somewhere in the culture and ethos of this CG,
such that we can at some point move away from subjective
measurements towards objective ones.

If Alan agrees, I (personally) would also like to be
considered as a potential core contributer in this CG.
