Has a Website CG been opened? I know it was proposed, but I don't see
that it was opened. I think a Website CG would be a fine home for
content and webapp development projects for opensolaris.org, and the
editorial people in that CG would write/publish content for the common
areas of the site in collaboration with whoever wants to participate. My
understanding of the Website Editorial Board, however, was that it would
approve changes in content to the common areas of the site. In other
words, one part writes stuff, and the other reviews/approves. I'd like
to see the board be used more as a dispute resolution mechanism, rather
than an editorial generation mechanism.

I work for Bonnie and have been on that core team for four years. I have
access to most anything that is non-development oriented on the site. I
don't generally touch stuff I don't directly work on, though. Don't want
to break anything. :) I'm happy to be involved in website content
issues, but I'd prefer to do that work from inside a CG and then
interact with the board when necessary (disputes, policies, etc).

The website guidelines need updating from an editorial style point of
view as well as a policy perspective. The current guidelines were an
initial attempt (with an update or two along the way) to write
guidelines back when absolutely no one cared about content on the site.
That's changed, now, so new guidelines are needed.
