also, my friend lip reads very little - she said it's very hard to do
b/c it's like, i suppose, similar to accents - nobody's lips move
exactly the same way. but we communicate very well! we carry pads of
paper around (when we aren't on the computer talking) and she is
teaching me sign language - i have a very rudimentary knowledge - i
know the alphabet so if we are having big trouble i can spell out a
word to her... you'd be very surprised how easy it is to
communicate... it's as if you were communicating with someone who
speaks a different language and neither of you understand each other -
somehow, you'd manage to get the meaning across - of course, this is
easier b/c we both "speak" the same language (more or less)
