Hi everybody!
Just one week left till FOSDEM 2011 starts. Because of this a short reminder
regarding stuff you should make sure to bring if you want to join:

1) Stuff you should not forget to package:
 - Bring Euro coins (2, 1, .5, .2 and .1)! The reason is simple: Close to the
hacking room is a vending machine that is a little cheaper than the official
sale of drinks at FOSDEM and the drinks are cooled. The problem: you need coins
to feed it! Beside this buying tickets is cheaper when getting them from the
machines available at basically every station. When buying from the driver you
pay a little more.
 - Don't forget your laptops plus power supplies if you plan on hacking.
 - Since network access at FOSDEM is a little, uhm, erratic you might consider
getting yourself a git checkout so that you can continue hacking and saving
stuff even when network ain't available for a while. For instructions on getting
a git checkout of the wesnoth tree, have a look at the wiki [1].
 - Don't forget to take your mobile phone with you and take the power supply for
it either.
 - Some people should take power extension cords as well as some multi outlets
with them. That is I will take some with me and mordante might take some with
him, too. Though if you are coming over to FOSDEM by car you might want to
consider putting some into your trunk.

For those staying at 2go4 (valid for most participants):
 - Don't forget to package a towel. The booked beds include sheets, but not
towels, so you got to bring those yourself.
 - Consider packaging a padlock, too. Some of the rooms got lockers, but those
got no lock included, for those you need a padlock. Last years room had no
locker, the year before there were lockers in the room. Better safe than sorry,
so bring some padlocks if you want to lock stuff in.

2) The list of normal talks is already/finally available at the FOSDEM website
[2] (not as pdf, will probably be out later...). You might want to have a look
at it to get an idea what there will be besides Wesnoth.

3) As the last years we will most likely conquer the first row of the hacking
room AW1.115. So if we don't meet before, you should be able to find some
Wesnoth people there.

4) We will most likely meet already Friday afternoon/evening and have dinner at
the same Greek (hey, great country name, so close to 'geek'... ;) ) restaurant
we were at over the last years. Prices were affordable and food was good. At [3]
you can find a link with approximate google maps coordinates. It should be at
this street and the coordinates should be correct +-50m.

5) All people with access to the hidden moderators forum should have a look at
the list of phone numbers [4] and save some of those so that you can easily
call/message some of the others (makes coordinating a meeting a lot easier!).

6) Those who have no idea how some of us look can have a look at the 2008 group
photo [5]. Of the people shown in the photo at least boucman, grzywacz, Ivanovic
and Mordante plan to participate in this years FOSDEM. Maybe even Sirp will be
there, who knows... IMO it would be a good idea if someone coming over to FOSDEM
could bring a (usable) digicam so that we can make a new photo.

7) For those who have no idea how weather will look this weekend: I don't know
it either. You should check the weather forecast shortly before... Okay, you can
also have a look at [6] to get a rough idea...

More information about what we want to do at FOSDEM as well as some maps and
stuff about transportation is available in the wesnoth wiki at [7]. Additional
topics for discussions are welcome. Those interested can eg test Wesnoth on the
Pandora [8] (yeah, I'll bring mine!).

Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible,
Nils Kneuper aka Ivanovic
