see my previous point in reply to noy, I personally believe replaying
is boring, especially when it's replaying multiple hours of gaming...

ok, realism vs fun here... we are playing a game too. It's true that
"not wining enough" is reaistic, but is it fun ? It would be OK if we
told the player about that. I.E if the objectives had "you should
finish with an army of value XXX to continue" the problem is that the
player realize that at a point where the cost of correcting is too
high (cost in "no-fun time" not cost in gold) and no-fun cost is what
drives away players

I think that's the point where we disagree. Yes he could crush them
whith what he learnt, but that's not fun. There is nothing left to
learn since he knows the techniques and how the oponent will react
(learning is fun), there is nothing left to discover (since he played
the scenario already, he won't discover the story)
Lots of players replay campaign, but they replay on harder difficulty,
for the extra challange, to test their new skill. That's not the case
here. I really think that replaying is long and tedious and should be
avoided.
Apparently some people seem to disagree, and i'm really interested in
why they enjoy those replays. Crushing oponents gets old really fast,
so I don't really understand the fun. I assume i'm missing something
and I think one of you should explain so we can move the discussion
further...
