Please, guys. We arediscussing this issue for months now. We can ask that every
single one of the users who voted there come here and confirm his/her option,
but it clearly counterproductive. I cannot see why, with such a clear majority
(85,7%), the wish of the community can't be speedly implemented... The mood
against this kind of filibusting down there will eventually galvanize and
cristalize a negative opinion that will be much harder to revert down the road.
Harsher and harsher methods to avoid IP disruption will be implemented to
circunvent this captcha problem if you do not trust that the community will, at
some point, turn it off in the future when (and only when) those alternatives
prove to be feasible in our reality (35 sysops for 800 0000 articles; almost
anyone capable to operate bots; third world country mentality in regards to
"public property" etc.). No one wish to keep this on forever, but we need time
and some peace to try some other alternatives.
