Checks - what are those?

I don't even think that the banks issue checks here in Fairytaleland.

There is no such thing as a paycheck. The money is transferred to your bank 
account; most payments for products and services are made by "Dankort" that is 
similar to a debit card that is universally accepted and for which there are no 
charges. Your recurring expenses are drawn on your bank account.

If you need cash you just get it at any store where you in connection with a 
purchase can get up to $500 on your Dankort - again no fees to be paid by the 
card holder or merchant. Or use an ATM machine, well here you pay maybe 50 
cents charge if the machine is not owned by you own bank. Or you can go to the 
bank, that is if you can find a neighborhood bank that handles cash!
